The mobile social mediation and intervention team (ÉMMIS) is composed of social facilitators, who travel in pairs to provide support in the event of tense situations in public spaces.
Its goal is to defuse conflict onsite by facilitating dialogue, without judgment or force.
ÉMMIS is a project of the Ville de Montréal carried out with financial support from the Quebec government.
Our advisors receive your request, assess the situation, and forward it to ÉMMIS when appropriate.
The 211 phone and chat services and ÉMMIS are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in all 19 boroughs of Montreal.
